What on earth is PURPLE PINKIE ?

Purple Pinkie is a campaign by Rotary District 1240 to raise money for Polio Plus – one of the world’s biggest ever immunisation programmes to rid the world of Polio.

Polio is easy to prevent. A child can be vaccinated for just 50p, protecting the child against this crippling disease for life. When a child is vaccinated, they have a purple stamp put on their little finger – giving them a Purple Pinkie.

Between February 23 and March 1, 2009, Rotary clubs throughout District 1240 (which covers Essex and a small part of Hertfordshire) will be raising money through the Purple Pinkie campaign.

MILDMAY will be supporting PURPLE PINKIE throughout the campaign.   Click here to visit the special PURPLE PINKIE website which will give you more information about the campaign, and where you can go to make a donation, and get your Purple Pinkie, or click here to donate directly.
